See Aggersborg from the air
Seen from the air, you get a good idea of the fortress's impressive size and, not least, its strategic location at one of the traffic hubs of the Viking Age, the Limfjord.
The fortress complex was placed at the place by the fjord, where both sailing traffic and land traffic had been controlled for a long time. Aggersborg and Vesthimmerland are the story of the landscape of power in the Viking Age, and archaeological finds from the area show the region's close connection to the power elite and the trading wealth that was linked to the Limfjord.
