Summer at Aggersborg

Summer at Aggersborg offers plenty of activities. Check the calendar on this page for a more detailed program.

July 2–11 – We build history:
Watch how a Viking palisade is recreated by hand, just as it was 1,000 years ago – in collaboration with Hanherred Havbåde.

Daily activities (during the school summer holidays):

  • 11:00 AM: Guided tour in English – The King's Fortress.
    Discover Harald Bluetooth's largest ring fortress. Includes samples of mead and dried meat.
    Price: 50 DKK. Free for children.

  • 1:00 PM: Guided tour in Danish – Kongens borg.
    Discover Harald Bluetooth's largest ring fortress. Includes samples of mead and dried meat.
    Price: 50 DKK. Free for children.

  • 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM: The Children's Fortress.
    Explore Aggersborg with a children's booklet: puzzles, treasure hunt, and a certificate for completing the adventure.
    Price: 50 DKK.

July 1–31, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: A Viking ship is being built in the barn at Aggersborggård.

July 16 / 23 & August 7 / 13: Aggersborg’s Thralls. Meet the thralls, try Viking games, and get a taste of the Viking Age – with campfires and fun for the whole family.

August 23–24, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Viking Craft Gathering. Experience Viking craftsmanship live: weaving, iron smelting, and jewelry making. Meet people in Viking clothing and buy food and drinks.

Aggersborg

Address: Thorupvej 13, 9670 Løgstør.

Follow the signs north of the bridge over Aggersund. The road Aggersborgvej leads out to the ring fortress, and you can park at Aggersborg Church.
Information signs are found by the car park and here you will also find an exhibition house with a small, but informative and child-friendly exhibition.

Free access to the site and exhibition building all year round.
